TfLByeBye
We could have some posts:
One for the Stepford Sub (Name: How many TPH would it take to have trains short turn at Saint Helens Bridge? Or other stations?
Desc: Stepford Central already has a bunch of routes terminating. How many trains per hour end their trips there and what is it’s maximum capacity?)
Plus, I think a few new MTA sub posts could work:
Title: What if: The Bronx had it’s own transportation system
Description: The first in my NYCWI series. Basically, the IRT and IND both had their services thwarted by NIMBYs and someone created the Bronx Transportation Authority, and the BTA took these lines, and made the elevated lines quieter by replacing the steel with concrete and underground service was also made quieter, so most NIMBY would obviously like this. The private companies wanted their lines back, but the BTA wouldn’t give them back. The current system today is full of crosstown lines, like Tremont Avenue, Fordham Road, Gun Hill Road, 169th Street and 149th Street. Lines go to transit deserts that the current Bronx subway system does not serve. They have 5 car trains, which allow for more frequent service, plus CBTC has been installed on every line, making service even more efficient and frequent. Service also continues into Manhattan and adds frequent service to Central Park riders (takes loads off CPW and adds East Side service with the W)
